KLOCWORK MORE THAN DOUBLES CUSTOMER BASE - ENTERS 2006 WITH SIGNIFICANT BUSINESS MOMENTUM
New Products Receive Accolades, Spearheads Industry-Wide Software Assurance Initiative
BURLINGTON, Mass. - March 7, 2006 - Klocwork Inc., the proven leader in automated software solutions that improve software security and quality, more than doubled its customer base in 2005 by adding over 40 new customers including: Argon ST, BMC Software, Diebold, Samsung, Seagate and Trend Micro. Leveraging its recent reseller agreement with IPL, Klocwork expanded its customer base in Europe with: customers such as Berthold, Bosch, Giesecke & Devrient and PacketFront. The company also has grown its relationships with several of its long-standing marquee customers including Avaya, Cisco Systems, and Motorola. The company now has over 80 customers, who recognize the value Klocwork provides - preventing software security and quality problems that can damage a company's financial bottom line, brand and reputation. Klocwork's rapid customer adoption was ignited by the June 2005 announcement of Klocwork K7, the first fully integrated software security and quality solution that helps development teams ensure customer-affecting software problems are found and fixed early in the software development lifecycle.
Since June, Klocwork's K7 has been widely recognized for its value to the extended development team. K7 recently outperformed and outscored a competitive offering in a review published by InfoWorld (online at: http://www.infoworld.com/article/06/01/26/73919_05FEcode_1.html), and scored a 9 out of 10 on defect management and overall value. The product suite was also cited as being an extremely accurate software security solution in a Secure Enterprise review (http://www.secureenterprisemag.com/article/printableArticle.jhtml?articleId=174402221). Because of Klocwork's product innovation and leadership in the market, in 2005 the company was also recognized on the SD Times 100 and was included in Gartner's "Application Quality Ecosystem Magic Quadrant."
"In the last year, we have seen accelerated acceptance for our key value propositions," said Mike Laginski, CEO of Klocwork. "First, management has shown keen interest in using our metrics tools to truly understand the state of their software development projects and more effectively manage their development organizations. Second, development teams are recognizing the value of our suite as a productivity tool to provide them deeper and timely insight into complex defects - ones that can span multiple parts of an application, and ones that have been historically, very difficult to identify using manual techniques. Last, our customers are delivering more reliability, more security, and higher quality products to their customers," continued Laginski. "They are leveraging our suite to measure their progress against KPI's, focus on key problem areas in their code and accelerate the curve of freeing up critical developers to work on innovation as opposed to manual complex defect debugging. These issues are now key drivers for the adoption of static analysis tools, and we expect this momentum to continue."
In addition to recent customer and product momentum, Klocwork continues to provide thought leadership at key standards groups and software development trade shows and conferences. Klocwork has been a vocal advocate of Software Assurance, leading one of the key initiatives within the Object Management Group to create a much-needed standard for software security testing (http://www.omg.org/news/meetings/tc/agendas/SwA_Agenda.pdf) along with the DHS, open source community and other commercial software vendors. Klocwork will also have a presence or be presenting at several upcoming conferences: The Better Software Conference and Expo, the Software Security Summit, EclipseCon, the Intel Development Forum, the Embedded Systems Conference in Silicon Valley, and STAR East.
